Highlights
Fortified residential complex designed for ladies of the royal family of Jaipur and their attendants built in 1734A.D., a unique complex. Due to insensitive transformations, usage and neglect the complex is under threat of being lost forever. Preservation, restoration and structural conservation measures, removal of inappropriate additions and adaptive reuse of built spaces as a “Cultural Space” dedicated to royal women, landscaping, tourist facilitation, signage and architectural lighting were the key highlights of the proposal.
