Highlights
Huge square in the centre of Chowkri Sarahad built in 1734A.D. Insensitive transformations, usage and activity pattern has resulted in defacing of the rich urban fabric. Restoration and structural conservation of built spaces, removal of inappropriate additions, removal of encroachments, adaptive reuse of built spaces ‘Development as a Arts and Crafts Node, redesigning open space, pedestrianization, landscaping, tourist facilitation, signage system and lighting were the key highlights of the proposal.
