Highlights
The 1008 Shri Shantinathji Digambar Jain Beesa Panthi Temple at Jhalarapatan is a famous centre for learning, a typical example of north Indian temple architecture with the amalgamation of Rajasthani architectural features. The temple complex had been subjected to the ravages of nature and various incompatible modifications. Preservation of stone carvings, gold painted ornamental ceilings and frescoes, restoration of the entrance portal, adaptive reuse of unused spaces as a “Cultural & Spiritual Node” including a Museum, Knowledge Center for Jain philosophy and a Training Center for Hadoti fresco painting were the key highlights of the proposal.
