Conservation of Digamber Jain Temple Complex of Shri Neminathji and Shri Chandraprabhuji Amer

Highlights

Being a typical example of traditional north Indian temple architecture, Shri Neminathji temple is one of the oldest temples in Amer. The temple complex had been subjected to various incompatible interventions that damaged the integrity of the spaces in the complex. Restoration of temple facade, pradakshina path and the main entrance were the key highlights. Preservation of stone carvings, adaptive reuse of spaces for developing the complex as a “Cultural & Spiritual Node” including creation of an Interpretation Centre, Amphitheater, Sculpture court and integration of fragmented open spaces was also undertaken.
